Attention all Scouters, former Scouters,
or former scouts:
Tuckaleechee District is looking for
any currently registered adult, previous volunteer, or an individual who was a
Boy Scout and would like to renew their commitment to America's youth in
Scouting through commissioner service.
A Unit Commissioner's job is directly related to the strength of our units (Cub, Boy Scout, and Venturing) and to the quality of the program our units can offer. A Unit Commissioner accomplishes their goals by visiting the units assigned to him/her (usually 2 or 3) on a regular basis.
Commissioner duties include:
Reporting difficulties in the units to the District Commissioner or one of the Assistant District Commissioners to afford the opportunity for assistance of the district.
Work to ensure a healthy, working, unit committee
Assuring that proper techniques are used to select and recruit unit leaders when necessary
Help the unit leaders with the annual re-charter process and assures that the compete charter renewal application is returned to the council office on time
Presents the new charter at an appropriate meeting of the chartered organization
Ensures that unit leadership
receives adequate training.
