Attention all Scouters,
former Scouters, or former scouts:
Tuckaleechee District is looking for any currently registered
adult, previous volunteer, or an individual who was a Boy Scout and would like
to renew their commitment to
A Unit Commissioner's job is directly related to the strength of our units (Cub, Boy Scout, and Venturing) and to the quality of the program our units can offer. A Unit Commissioner accomplishes their goals by visiting the units assigned to him/her (usually 2 or 3) on a regular basis.
Commissioner duties include:
- Reporting difficulties in the units to the District Commissioner or one of the Assistant District Commissioners to afford the opportunity for assistance of the district.
- Work to ensure a healthy, working, unit committee
- Assuring that proper techniques are used to select and recruit unit leaders when necessary
- Help the unit leaders with the annual re-charter process and assures that the compete charter renewal application is returned to the council office on time
- Presents the new charter at an appropriate meeting of the chartered organization
- Ensures that unit leadership receives adequate training.
